4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics:

Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter.

I can be friends with people who disagree with me about gun rights… unless they are the kind of folks who can’t keep it real.

No one agrees 100% with anyone else. We are all individuals.

With guns, the pro gun rights folks have more passion and knowledge about the subject matter, facts supported by the Bureau of Justice, and history supported by the Bill of Rights.

We can have a cordial debate, but when anti-gunners come to me with a condescending, arrogant attitude… don’t even waste the time. Actions by motivated individuals matter. None of my anti-gun friends and acquaintances do anything other than yap their mouths.

I’ve donated to 6 separate gun rights causes in the last 6 months even though I personally earn less than the federal poverty level.

A teacher at my school posted this on his door, and my friend and I thought this was rather tactless considering the recent school shootings. So I posted a sign next to it that said “this offends me <—-”

Apparently he called us cowards in his next block class. I kind of want to walk into his classroom and ask him why he thinks I’m a coward and present him with my rather articulate argument for gun control, a subject which I researched at length and wrote an article about for the school newspaper. Good idea or bad idea?

Never hunted boar at night, but I did lend out my NV setup to a friend that did.

Many good magnified optics (“Nightforce” scopes began as night hunting scopes in Austrailia) can increase natural illumination, but without NODs, everything is environmentally dependent. You’ll have to expriment to see what set up works best for your terrain… and hog hunting experiences vary wildly.

Any “sniper” that doesn’t know the transsonic threshhold of M118LR out of 3 different types of guns is a fucking liar.

As for universal questions for “snipers” of all ages (“I was a sniper in the 80s!”), any “sniper” that can’t immediately tell you the distance between the two leading edges of mil-dots is also, very suspect. If you spends WEEKS looking through and using mil-dots at school, then YEARS looking through mil dots in the field… .mil to MOA conversion is also a great way to trip up the poser d-bags

Originally called the OSR (Optimized Sniper Rifle), Larue’s rivals at A.R.M.S. realized they owned the trademark to OSR and killed that. Hence how the Optimized Battle Rifle (OBR) name came to be.

Kind of an old school gun, but definitely a new school optic. The Leupold Mk 6 is nuts. It’s like the Canon 2.8 20-70 II of rifle scopes. All the tech developed in the Mk 8 CQBSS put into a more affordable scope.

The Mk 8 went from $5K a pop (SASS Carbine issue optic contender?) to $3K a pop in the last two years.

A powerful pistol chambered for .30 caliber carbine, this prototype was created by George F. Grebey in 1943. Grebey was a designer for Winchester who worked on the M1 Carbine project. As a result this pistol has features to make it more compatible with the M1, including its use of 15 round M1 carbine magazines. Grebey hoped to secure government contracts during World War II, designing the pistol for use by paratroopers, but unfortunately the pistol never went beyond the prototype stage.
